ATTENDANCE: Prompt, regular attendance, as a courtesy to fellow students and the instructor is expected and essential to insure maximum progress for each student. Tardiness is discouraged since proper warm up is necessary in order to avoid the risk of injury. Students should arrive ready to dance no more than 5 minutes prior to the scheduled class in order to avoid any distraction to the class in session. Please make every effort to attend your scheduled class. There are no makeup classes.
OBSERVATION: PARENTS are invited to observe classes twice a year. This regulation is to aid the student in concentrating on class without the distraction of an audience. Parents and siblings remaining in the lobby area during class is often a disruption to the students as well as to the instructors. Parents should leave their child for class and return to the studio 5 minutes prior to dismissal. Parents may contact their child’s instructor at any time with any questions or concerns regarding their child’s progress. Fall and spring observation dates will be announced in parent newsletters.
CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE: Only water bottles are permitted inside the classrooms. Gum and food are prohibited due to food allergies. Also, student cell phones are NOT permitted inside the classrooms. Waters are available to purchase in the lobby for $1.00.
SNOW DAYS: In the event of inclement weather, classes may be cancelled. Should a weather related closing occur, parents will receive an email or it will be announced on our website and Facebook page. Two snow days are allotted before rescheduling.
RECITAL: The highlight of the dance year is the dance recital in costume. This event includes ALL students (dance and tumbling). It is an exciting time of the year as the children prepare to perform for an audience. A recital fee will become due the first week of November for all students wishing to participate in the recital. Our recital is typically the third Saturday in May at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati. Additional recital information will be announced in studio newsletters as it becomes available.
